Have you wondered what an energy model is and how it impacts LEED certification. This class provides an overview of Energy Modeling associated with LEED projects. The requirements for ASHRAE 90.1 -2007 are discussed as well as the concept of performance relative to baseline. Design considerations that impact energy performance are reviewed and examples are presented to calculate energy performance and obtain LEED points. Since EAc1, Optimize Energy Performance, can account for 19 points, it is necessary to understand the basic concepts of energy modeling.

It discusses and explains the LEED construction credits such as Construction Waste management, Recycled Content, Regional Materials, and Indoor Air Quality Management. It outlines the Contractor's responsibilities with respect to LEED. Record keeping and cost implications for contractors are also discussed.
