Request for Proposal Educational Presentations & Workshop Series


USGBC KY is requesting proposals for our educational programming. We would like to invite you to submit a proposal for teaching our members and stakeholders. USGBC KY  holds monthly one-hour Lunch and Learn classes and also offers programs that range from 3 hours up to 2-day long educational workshops. If you have presentations or educational programs that are developed and ready to be taught, please read the criteria and class descriptions below and fill out our proposal submission form. Payment Policy:

KY-USGBC instructor payment policy is as follows:

1. Classes that are less than 3 hours – no payment to instructor

2. Classes of any length when KY Chapter does not charge attendees – no payment to instructor

3. Classes that are 3 hours to half-day - $150.00

4. Classes that are full day - $400.00

5. Classes that are two full days- $800.00

Criteria:

1. The classes are focused on particular subjects in green building. THESE ARE NOT INTRODUCTORY CLASSES. The majority of our members and stakeholders are Green Building Professionals who are LEED Accredited Professionals seeking detailed information to help them develop their skills as green building practitioners.

2. All courses must follow Continuing Education protocol so that they may be submitted for professional development, continuing education credits. Please do not promote your specific business or discuss competitors.

3. Class participants want to know specifics, e.g. design specs, costs, pluses/minuses of particular technologies/products, where to get products.

4. We encourage participant engagement in programs that are more than 1 hour long. Please structure your courses to engage the participants. (Participants will only retain about 10% of knowledge while learning passively versus up to 75% when they are actively engaged in the subject).

Selection Process:

The USGBC KY Education Committee – Program Task Force members will evaluate all proposals and courses. Courses will be chosen based upon quality of program, instructor’s credentials and level of expertise and past teaching/presentation experience. Once a proposal has been selected the instructor will be asked to sign a contract and submit the full proposal.

Please note: USGBC KY does not compensate instructors for course development time.
